"International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 290 are the dedicated civil servants of the Puget Sound Region, both performing the trade specific work and the obligation of union representation in the DoD Civilian Sector. We have sworn to protect our fellow federal employees from threats to their enumerated rights, to their jobsite safety, and the arbitrary mismanagement of our employer. Our goal is to educate our membership on their entitlements under the law and negotiated contract, as well as; representing them in disputes, negotiations, and fighting to ensure fair wages and equitable treatment. We have a moral imperative to make certain our fellow DoD Civilians are treated with the respect and dignity all hard working tradespeople deserve. We take our loyalty to the IBB members as seriously as our oaths of service. It is our sincerest hope that all could one day enjoy the tangible and ethical benefits of membership and solidarity."
